Here’s a explanation as to why the DSG (Dual Sector Gear) is a preferable alternative to a conventional high speed setup. -- ”Ok heres how I see this. On a regular high speed setup (~48-50rps MAX), everything is pushed to the limit. Premature Engagement is a huge problem, the gear axles are susceptible to wear and everything in the gearbox has to run entirely fast. On a DSG setup (~50-70rps), the only thing pushed is the Piston, motor, and tappet plate. The gears only run at HALF the rof (25-35) due to it shooting twice for every one sector rotation. The tappet can be replaced with a guarder which will hold up just fine and will not need regular replacment. The motor just needs to have sufficient torque as in a G&P M160 Or Systema Magnum. The piston is the only real weak spot but can still last awhile if its a bravo, shs or storm, etc, the AOE is good, and the piston body is lightened (optional). With the DSG, you get better trigger response and no turbo motor “spin up” since a torque motor is used. Also, MUCH higher rof’s are achieveable and the fps is much higher as in 50 rps vs. 70 rps and 360 fps vs. 320 fps. I HEAVILY favor the DSG over any conventional HS setup.
