Lipo Ready Tune Up Cost: $50
This is a much more advanced version of the Basic Tune Up.
I believe in it so much that you will receive a lifetime warranty if you choose this option. Basically if the gun EVER fails on a lipo or any other battery*, you can return it and I will fix it for free**. I do have to look at the internals first though, as some stock parts just can’t handle a lipo no matter what. Most of the time, a few upgrades will be required depending on the gun.
- Reshim and regrease the gearbox using precision .01 shims and white lithium grease. This ensures smooth movement of the gears so they can operate their highest potential. Reshimming also reduces gearbox whine drastically.
- New #14 o-ring to increase consistency and FPS.
- Remove the second tooth of the piston to prevent pickup tooth issues
- Add a sorbothane pad or spacers to adjust the angle of engagement (AoE). This adds a substantial amount of life to the piston.
- Install dean connector on gun and ONE battery. Additional batteries are $5. These handle lipos much better than the ancient Tamiya plugs. They are also easier to plug/unplug
- “Swiss Cheese” the piston. This is a process in which holes are drilled in the piston body. It reduces weight, which in turn, reduces the chance of pick-up tooth failure when you are cycling at a high rate of fire.
- Adjust the Motor height. This increases pinion gear and bevel gear life along with reducing the high-pitched whine from the gearbox
- Ensure proper fit and operation of all components. This ensures that all parts are where they’re supposed to be and are operating smoothly. I also look for any premature wear so that parts can be replaced before they fail which is usually much cheaper.
- Disassemble, clean, and lubricate the hop-up and barrel. This will increase accuracy, and if you have never had it cleaned, the improvement will be much more drastic.
- If customer will be running a RoF above ~35 rounds per recond, I will short stroke the piston to prevent premature engagement.
- OPTIONAL MOSFET: For 10$ more, I will create and install a MOSFET. This is the most essential lipo-ready upgrade. It doesn’t have any fancy features like Active Breaking or 3 round burst but it does a great job of preventing the trigger contacts from getting fried. It is the single most important lipo ready upgrade and is HIGHLY recommended.
* Recommend battery is an 11.1v 2000mah or lower, at a discharge rate of 20C or less. Above that could void the warranty. (this does not apply if you have a MOSFET installed)
** The warranty on the lipo ready tune up has to be approved my me prior to you recieving the gun back. Some guns’ internals just cant handle a lipo no matter how much they are tuned. Most guns will get the warranty and I will let you know if your gun qualifies for the warranty before you get it back. If you’d like to ask me if your gun would qualify, just ask me and I’d be happy to tell you.
